NCC: Season wraps with TD Bank Mayor’s Cup

  
  


(Sept. 26, 2014) – The 2014 USA Cycling National Criterium Calendar (NCC) came to a close with the TD Bank Mayor’s Cup on Sept. 20 in Boston, as the men’s and women’s individual and team standings remained nearly unchanged for the final top fives.
 
MEN’S

Three weeks after clinching the men’s title, Luke Keough (Sandwich, Mass./UnitedHealthcare) placed 15th at the TD Bank Mayor’s Cup to bring his final point total to 785. Daniel Holloway (Morgan Hill, Calif./Athlete Octane Cycling) closed in second with 759 points after winning the event, while Kenneth Hanson’s (San Diego, Calif./UnitedHealthcare) 707 points, aided by a silver medal at the TD Mayor’s Cup, was good enough for third. Adam Myerson (Boston, Mass./SmartStop Pro Cycling) used a sixth-place result at the event to finish fourth in the standings with 513 points, and Isaac Howe (Winooski, Vt./Champion System-Stan's No Tubes) took fifth in the standings with 470 points on the heels of an eighth-place TD Bank Mayor’s Cup finish.
 
WOMEN’S
 
Erica Allar (Tucson, Ariz./Colavita-Fine Cooking) added to her winning point total by taking fifth at the TD Bank Mayor’s Cup, giving her 1,117 points on the year, while Tina Pic (Hailey, Idaho/Fearless Femme) closed out an impressive season in second with 837 points when she took silver at the event. The only shake-up in the women’s standings came when Coryn Rivera (Tustin, Calif./UnitedHealthcare) overtook third with 761 points, thanks to a TD Bank Mayor’s Cup win. Laura Van Gilder (Cresco, Pa./Van Dessel Factory Team p/b Mellow Mushroom) dropped from third to fourth with 735 points, despite placing fourth at the event, and Samantha Schneider (Milwaukee, Wis./TIBCO-To the Top) held her fifth-place standing with 579 points after earning bronze in Boston.
 
TEAM
 
With the team title wrapped up on the men’s side, UnitedHealthcare added to its point total, using Hanson’s silver medal to bolster its final tally to 3,040 points. Athlete Octane Cycling held second place with 1,101 points on Holloway’s win, while Astellas Cycling Team finished third with 872 points. Champion System-Stan's NoTubes’ 793 points, assisted by two TD Bank Mayor’s Cup top-10 finishes, was good for fourth in the standings, and SmartStop Pro Cycling finished fifth with 712 points.
 
Like the men’s standings, the women’s title was determined earlier in the month, but Colavita-Fine Cooking continued to fortify its top score by recording two top-10 finishes at the TD Bank Mayor’s Cup and totaling 1,963 points. Rivera’s win helped UnitedHealthcare to a second-place 1,497 points, while TIBCO/To the Top used Schneider’s bronze-medal effort to claim third place with 1,349 points. Pepper Palace Pro Cycling finished fourth with 997 points, and Fearless Femme took fifth with 969 points.
