NCC: Leaders stand tall after AFA Cycling Classic, St. Francis Tulsa Tough

  
  


(June 19, 2015) – The USA Cycling National Criterium Calendar (NCC) split to Arlington, Va., and Tulsa, Okla., for the June 13-14 Air Force Association Cycling Classic and June 12-14 St. Francis Tulsa Tough, where all four standings leaders retained their respective leads.
 
WOMEN’S

Erica Allar (Tucson, Ariz./ Colavita-Bianchi p/b Fine Cooking) picked up two wins and a second-place finish to win the St. Francis Tulsa Tough omnium and extend her standings lead to 610 points, while Samantha Schneider (Milwaukee, Wis./ISCorp Cycling p/b SmartChoice MRI) held second with 484 points with a fourth-place result at the event. Tina Pic (Hailey, Idaho/Pepper Palace Pro Cycling p/b the Happy Tooth) remained third with 393 points after finishing 11th in Tulsa, while Skylar Schneider’s (West Allis, Wis./ISCorp Cycling p/b SmartChoice MRI) fourth best score of 307 points was assisted by a seventh-place effort over the weekend. One thousand, two hundred miles away, Coryn Rivera (Tustin, Calif./UnitedHealthcare) worked her way into the top five with 295 points after taking the omnium win at the Air Force Association Cycling Classic.
 
MEN’S
 
Hilton Clarke (Los Angeles, Calif./UnitedHealthcare) remains the top-ranked rider in the men’s standings with 470 points after notching the AFACC omnium win. Ryan Aitcheson (Milwaukee, Wis./Astellas Cycling Team) made the leap from fourth to second with 340 points with a third-place weekend in Virginia, and Karl Menzies (Ada, Mich./UnitedHealthcare) dropped from second to third with 336 points with a 16th-place AFACC omnium finish. Carlos Alzate (COL/UnitedHealthcare) retained his fourth-place standing with 300 points, and Brad White (Holland, Mich./UnitedHealthcare) dropped from third to fifth with 261 points after not recording any points over the weekend.
 
TEAM
 
The women’s top five remained unchanged after the multi-event weekend, as ISCorp Cycling p/b SmartChoice MRI remained atop the standings with 1134 points assisted by three St. Francis Tulsa Tough top-five finishes. UnitedHealthcare stands second with 790, trailed closely by Colavita-Bianchi p/b Fine Cooking in third with 758 points and Team TIBCO-SVB in fourth with 726. Pepper Palace Pro Cycling p/b the Happy Tooth remains in fifth place with 615 points.
 
The men’s team standings nearly went unscathed with UnitedHealthcare continuing to lead the pace with 1494 points. Astellas Cycling Team is a distant second with 772 points, while third place Hincapie Racing Team remains third with 611 points, and KHS-Maxxis-JL Velo is still fourth with 386 points. Isagenix/SeaSucker/Guttenplan Coaching worked its way into the top five with 177 points.
