Pro CX: Standings stay pat after races in Rochester

The focus of the USA Cycling Professional Cyclo-cross Calendar (Pro CX) shifted to central New York where competitors toed the line vying for standings points in Rochester, N.Y., at the Full Moon Vista Cyclocross at Ellison Park on Saturday and Sunday.

The top of the Pro CX men's standings remains unchanged. Jeremy Powers (Easthampton, Mass./Rapha-Focus) remains the leader with 418 points, 80 points ahead of Ben Berden (BEL/Raleigh-Clement), who is in second place. Ryan Trebon (Bend, Ore./Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com) and Timothy Johnson (Topsfield, Mass./Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com) remain deadlocked in third place with 327 points apiece. Stephen Hyde (Edgartown, Mass./JAM Fund-NCC) earned 28 points over the week to pull within 25 points of Trebon and Johnson. Raphael Gagne (CAN/Rocky Mountain Factory) won both of the men's races to collect 70 points and move into sixth place with 243 points.

The top five of the Pro CX women's standings are entirely unchanged. Elle Anderson (San Francisco, Calif./California Giant Berry Farms-Specialized) paces the pack with 311 points. Meredith Miller (Boulder, Colo./California Giant Berry Farms-Specialized) sits in second place, only eight points behind Anderson and 13 points ahead of Gabriella Durrin (GBR/Rapha-Focus), who is in third place. Crystal Anthony (Beverly, Mass./Team Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies) holds fourth place with 270 points while Helen Wyman (GBR/Kona Factory Racing) rounds out the top five with 261 points. Laura van Gilder (Cresco, Pa./Van Dessel Factory Team), who won both of the women's races in Rochester, moved into sixth place in the standings with 249 points.

Without a juniors race on the calendar last weekend, the Pro CX juniors men's standings are unchanged. Peter Goguen (Hopedale, Mass./Race Cf-Racecf.Org @Racecf) paces the group with 140 points while Austin Vincent (Simsbury, Conn./Race Cf-Racecf.org @Racecf) holds second place with 116 points. Raphael Auclair (CAN/Subway-Sigman-Pivot Cycles) is in third place with 88 points while Maxx Chance (Boulder, Colo./Clif Bar Development Cyclocross Team) sits in fourth place with 74 points. Noah Granigan (Cape May Court House, N.J./Race Cf-Racecf.org @Racecf) completes the top five with 70 points. The juniors riders will next compete for standings points on Nov. 2 at the Cincy3 Lionhearts International-Cross After Dark in Mason, Ohio, and Nov. 3 at Cincy3 Harbin Park in Cincinnati, Ohio.

There's a pair of Pro CX races in St. Louis this weekend. Riders will try to earn valuable standings points at the Gateway Cross Cup on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 26-27.
