Pro CX: Powers and Anderson sweep races to boost standings positions

Jeremy Powers (Easthampton, Mass./Rapha-Focus) swept the two races in Massachusetts to collect 70 points and expand his lead in the Pro CX men's standings to 29 points. Timothy Johnson (Topsfield, Mass./Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com) finished second on Saturday and third on Sunday to add 56 points and bring his season-long total to 219 points. Ryan Trebon (Bend, Ore./Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com), who recorded a pair of top-five results, including placing second on Sunday, moved up one spot in the standings into second place with 199 points. Stephen Hyde (Edgartown, Mass./JAM Fund-NCC) slipped down one spot into fourth place with 190 points. Ben Berden (BEL/Raleigh-Clement) dropped into fifth place of the standings with 157 points.

There are two more events in the northeast next weekend as riders will compete in Providence, R.I., on Oct. 5 and 6 in the Providence Cyclo-cross Festival. The event in Providence marks the first two competitions on the Pro CX where juniors will accrue standings points. Also, please note the name of the event in Louisville, Ky., on Nov. 9-10 is now the MudFund Derby City Cup. |
