The USA Cycling Professional Cyclo-cross Calendar (Pro CX) remained in New England last weekend as riders were in Rhode Island to compete in the Providence Cyclo-cross Festival on Saturday and Sunday. The two races marked the first time this season that juniors were able to accrue points on the calendar. Additionally, Saturday's race was a C1 race, which provided triple standings points as riders pursue USA Cycling's $40,000 prize purse.

After the weekend in Providence, Tim Johnson (Topsfield, Mass./Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com) chipped only three points of Jeremy Powers' (Easthampton, Mass./Rapha-Focus) lead atop the Pro CX men's standings. Powers now has 353 points after winning Saturday's race to lead Johnson by 26 points. Ben Berden (BEL/Raleigh-Clement) won Sunday's race and surged from fifth in last week's standings to tie for third place with Ryan Trebon (Bend, Ore./Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com) with 282 points apiece. Stephen Hyde (Edgartown, Mass./JAM Fund-NCC) slipped down one spot in the standings into fifth place with 252 points.

Elle Anderson (San Francisco, Calif./California Giant Berry Farms-Specialized) finished second on Saturday and fourth on Sunday to vault into the top spot of the Pro CX women's standings with 295 points. Anderson has a five-point cushion on last week's leader, Gabriella Durrin (GBR/Rapha-Focus). Helen Wyman (GBR/Kona Factory Racing) dropped one spot into third place in the standings with 261 points. Meredith Miller (Boulder, Colo./California Giant Berry Farms-Specialized) holds fourth place with 257 points, only four points out of third place and 12 points ahead of Katerina Nash (CZE/Luna Pro Team), who swept the top spot of the two women's races over the weekend to move into fifth place of the standings with 245 points.

Peter Goguen (Hopedale, Mass./Race Cf-Racecf.Org @Racecf) capitalized on the juniors' first opportunity to amass points in the Pro CX juniors standings. Goguen won both of the juniors races to grab the early lead with 140 points. Austin Vincent (Simsbury, Conn./Race Cf-Racecf.org @Racecf) grabbed second place in the standings with 116 points after placing second on Saturday and third on Sunday. Raphael Auclair (CAN/Subway-Sigman-Pivot Cycles) holds third place with 88 points while Maxx Chance (Boulder, Colo./Clif Bar Development Cyclocross Team) sits in fourth place with 74 points. Noah Granigan (Cape May Court House, N.J./Race Cf-Racecf.org @Racecf) rounds out the top five with 70 points.
