NRC: Men’s rankings unchanged after North Star GP

  
  


(July 7, 2015) – The men’s individual and team National Racing Calendar (NRC) standings remained unscathed following the June 17-21 North Star Grand Prix in Minneapolis.

The men’s top five remained unchanged, as none of the riders recorded any points at the North Star Grand Prix. Heading into the final event of the year, Mike Woods (CAN/Team Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies) stands first with 424 points, Gregory Brenes (CRC/Jamis Hagens Berman p/b Sutter) is second with 404 points, John Murphy (Horse Shoe, N.C./UnitedHealthcare) is third with 356 points, Toms Skujins (Greenville, S.C./Hincapie Racing Team) stands fourth with 352 points and Daniel Jaramillo Diez (Albuquerque, N.M./Jamis Hagens Berman) has 314 points for fifth.
 
The Hincappie Racing Team fortified its top standing with 1406 points, chalking three top-10 finishes at North Star, including Mac Brennan’s (Greenville, S.C./Hincappie Racing Team) silver and Jonathan Hornbeck’s (Temecula, Calif./Hincappie Racing Team) fifth-place result. Team Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies rode Thomas Zirbel’s (Boulder, Colo./ Team Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies) win to 250 points on the weekend, giving the second-place team 1384. After not recording any points in Minneapolis, Jamis Hagens Berman p/b Sutter stands third with 982 points, Team Smartstop Pro Cycling holds fourth with 690 points and UnitedHealthcare is fifth with 658 points.
