NCC: White moves into third in men's standings with Glencoe win

Print (June 3, 2014) – Bradley White (Holland, Mich./UnitedHealthcare) won the men’s pro race at the 2014 Glencoe Grand Prix in Glencoe, Ill., May 31, to move into the top five in the USA Cycling National Criterium Calendar (NCC) standings.
MEN
White won his second consecutive Glencoe Grand Prix after finishing the course in 2:01:05, which pulled him into third in the men’s NCC standings. Carlos Alzate Escobar (COL/UnitedHealthcare) maintained his standings lead with 280 points, while Daniel Holloway (Morgan Hill, Calif./Athlete Octane Cycling) moved from third to second following his fifth-place finish at Glencoe, bringing his points total to 238. White rounds out the top three with 220 points, just ahead of Isaac Howe (Winooski, Vt./Champion System-Stans No Tubes), who sits in fourth place with 219 points, while Luke Keough (Sandwich, Mass./UnitedHealthcare) holds down the fifth spot with a total of 177.
WOMEN
On the women's side, Erica Allar (Tucson, Ariz./Colavita Racing, Inc.) remains as the top-ranked rider with 385 points. Samantha Schneider (Milwaukee, Wis./TIBCO-To the Top) slid into the top five with a fourth-place finish, displacing Alison Powers (Pinecliffe, Colo./UnitedHealthcare) and raising her points total to 197. The women’s top four of Allar, Laura Van Gilder (Cresco, Pa./Van Dessel Factory Team p/b Mellow Mushroom), Coryn Rivera (Tustin, Calif./UnitedHealthcare) and Tina Pic (Hailey, Idaho/Fearless Femme) remained unchanged.
TEAM
UnitedHealthcare maintained its commanding lead of the men’s standings with 995 points, while Athlete Octane Cycling jumped from fifth to second with 388 points following a strong weekend. Astellas Cycling Team, Champion System-Stans NoTubes and SmartStop Pro Cycling all slid down one spot. On the women’s side Colavita-Fine Cooking overtook UnitedHealthcare with 712 points. UnitedHealthcare is in second with 704. TIBCO/To the Top remained in third with 562, while Pepper Palace Pro Cycling passed Fearless Femme for fourth, bringing Pepper Palace Pro Cycling’s point total to 379.
