NCC: Bradley White, Tina Pic win in Wilmington; Allar takes over women's hot seat

The USA Cycling National Criterium Calendar (NCC) continued with the Bank of America Wilmington Grand Prix in Wilmington, Del. on May 17.
 
MEN
 
Bradley White (Holland, Mich./UnitedHealthcare) beat out second- and third-place finishers Andres Alzate (New York, N.Y./Champion System-Stans NoTubes) and Bobby Lea  (Mertztown, Pa./B. Lea Coaching) in the sprint finish in Wilmington to earn 120 points and enter the men's NCC standings in fifth-place. Despite his absence in Wilmington, Carlos Alzate (COL/UnitedHealthcare) still leads the men's standings with 280 points. After earning 12 points from his 17th-place finish on Saturday, Isaac Howe (Winookski, Vt./Champion System-Stans NoTubes) took over second place from Daniel Holloway (Morgan Hill, Calif./Athlete Octane Cycling) who moved down to third after not competing in Wilmington.  Luke Keough (Sandwich, Mass./UnitedHealthcare), who earned 27 points from his 11th place finish, stayed in fourth place in the standings.
 
WOMEN

In the bunch sprint that ensued at the end of the women's race, Tina Pic (Hailey, Idaho/Fearless Femme) crossed the line victorious ahead of second- and third-place finishers Erica Allar (Tucson, Ariz./Colavita-Fine Cooking) and Laura Van Gilder (Cresco, Pa./Mellow Mushroom p/b Pink Siren). Pic's win earned her 120 points and moved her into fifth-place in the women's NCC standings. Allar's second-place effort earned her 90 points for a total of 285 which was enough to overtake the hot seat from Coryn Rivera (Tustin, Calif./UnitedHealthcare) who was not present in Wilmington. Rivera moved into third in the standings and Van Gilder moved from fourth into second. Alison Powers (Pinecliffe, Colo./UnitedHealthcare) who was also not present in Wilmington, dropped from second to fourth. 
 
TEAMS
 
UnitedHealthcare maintained their strong leads in both the men's and women's team standings. The men's team has 775 points compared to the 314 earned thus far by second-place Champion System – Stans NoTubes. The UnitedHealthcare women's team has tallied 515 points compared to the 493 accumulated by second-place Colavita-Fine Cooking.
