Best Advice Received from a Coach When You Were Starting Out: Control your controllables; everything else is out of your hands
Motivation: I have always been motivated by the possibility of representing the USA at the world championships. Now, its really happening!
Hero/Role Model: My coach, Kristin Armstrong. I want to be as successful as her as far as cycling, and have a family as well.
Cycling & Personal/Career Goals: Cycling - Represent the USA in many more events all over the world, get a pro contract with a high-end pro team, and win a world championship. Personal - Attend Union College starting in 2015, get a master's degree, get a job and have a family.
First Involvement in Cycling: With very athletic parents, but little knowledge of cycling, we would watch the Tour de France every summer. My dad and older brother started going to local races and fell in love with the sport. I was not far behind..
Community and Charity Involvement: My family and I repainted the local and historic church.
Family: Daughter of Thomas and Christine White...has two brothers (Curtis and Harrison) and two sisters (Sarah and Anna)...Curtis is a cyclo-cross rider for Cannondale p/b CYCLOCROSSWORLD.COM, and has competed at the 2013 and 2014 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships.
Did you know? Emma is the only girl on a juniors men's team.
