Joey Rosskopf earned his second silver medal of the event in the men's road race on May 11 at the 2014 Pan American Continental Road Championships in Puebla, Mexico.
Other American medalists during the three days of racing included Evelyn Stevens (San Francisco, Calif./Team Specialized lululemon) riding to victory in the women's individual time trial on Thursday, and Megan Guarnier (Mountain View, Calif./Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team) also doubling up with a bronze medal in Thursday's individual time trial and a silver medal in Saturday's women's road race.
Sunday's 171.2-kilometer men's road race came down to a field sprint after Rosskopf broke away with three other riders, but it was Ecuador's Bayron Guama taking the win on the line, nipping Rosskopf and Colombia's Juan Suarez. The winning time was 4:33:42.
Ty Magner (Griffin, Ga./Hincapie Sportswear Development Team) gave the U.S. team another top-10 finish as he came across the line in ninth place, 1 minute and 52 seconds off the pace.
