NTC: Calendar kicks off at U.S. Sprint GP in T-Town

  
  


(June 11, 2015) – Early men’s and women’s sprint and endurance leaders emerged in the 2015 USA Cycling National Track Calendar (NTC) standings at the U.S. Sprint Grand Prix on June 5 in Trexlertown, Pa.
 
ENDURANCE

Kim Geist (Emmaus, Pa./Team Alliance Environmental) took the early women’s endurance lead with 15 points after winning the scratch race, while Kimberly Ann Zubris (Alburtis, Pa.), who finished second in the scratch race, trails with 12 points. Scratch race third-place finisher Tela Crane (Sammamish, Wash./Lake Washington Velo) stands third with 10 points, followed by Danielle Kahn (GBR) in fourth with eight points and Joanne Kiesanowski (NZL/Team TIBCO-SVB) in fifth with six.
 
Like Geist, Patrick Jones (NZL) won the men’s scratch race to earn 15 points for the early standings lead, followed by scratch race runner-up Jeremy Presbury (NZL) in second with 12 points. Stephen Hall (Santa Monica, Calif./Incycle-Predator Components) took third in the race to claim 10 points and the third overall standing, while Americans Jacob Duehring (Irvine, Calif./GS Ciao) and Bobby Lea (Mertztown, Pa./Maloja Pushbikers) round out the top five with eight and six points, respectively.
 
SPRINT
 
Elis Ligtlee (NED) climbed the podium after the women’s sprint to earn the standings lead with 15 points. Canadians Kate O’Brien (CAN) and Monique Sullivan (CAN) rounded out the podium to earn 12 and 10 points, respectively, while Shanne Braspennencx (NED) finished fourth for eight points, and Yesna Rijkhoff (NED) earned fifth for six points.
 
Kiwi Matthew Archibald (NZL) won the men’s sprint for 15 early points, followed by Jair Tjon En Fa (SUR) in second for 12 points. Matt Baranoski (Perkasie, Pa./Custom Velo) is the lone American in the men’s sprint standings at third with 10 points following his third-place sprint result, while Jeffrey Hoogland (NED) claimed eight points with his fourth-place finish, and Edward Dawkins (NZL) stands fifth with six.
