2015 National Track Calendar announced
(Feb. 6, 2015) – USA Cycling unveiled the 2015 USA Cycling National Track Calendar (NTC) on Friday. The nine-race calendar runs June 5 through Aug. 21, all held in Trexlertown, Pa., Colorado Springs, Colo., and Redmond, Wash.
The 2015 NTC commences at the June 5 U.S. Sprint GP at Valley Preferred Cycling Center in Trexlertown, which will host five of the nine NTC events. The Colorado Springs-based Velodrome at Memorial park hosts three events in July, while the Marymoor Velodrome in Redmond hosts its lone event, the Marymoor Grand Prix, July 24-25.
“This is one of the strongest calendars of internationally recognized UCI track races in recent memory,” said Micah Rice, USA Cycling Vice President of National Events. “Thanks to these velodromes for supporting track cycling development in the United States and providing a stage for our country’s best elite racers.”
Last year, Conor Klupar (Fall City, Wash./Marian University Cycling Team) won the men’s sprint title with 91 points and Liam Donoghue (Boulder, Colo./Natural Grocers Cycling Team) took the men’s endurance crown with 103 points, while Dana Feiss (Telford, Pa./Chester County Cycling Foundation-Team Alliance Environmental) won the 2014 women’s sprint championship with 93 points and Kate Wilson’s (Los Angeles, Calif./CCF Racing Team) 100 points earned the women’s endurance title.
The endurance riders will compete in the points race, scratch race, individual pursuit, Madison, team pursuit and individual omnium. The sprinters will contest the match sprint, time trial and keirin.
