As the USA Cycling National Racing Calendar (NRC) dwindles to eight events remaining on the men's calendar, Jonathan Cantwell (AUS/Fly V Australia) and Frank Pipp (Boulder, Colo./Bissell Pro Cycling) continue their rapid ascent up the men's NRC standings after their performances at the Boise Twilight Criterium. Cantwell, who trailed Pipp by 25 points for third place in last week's standings, now sits in third place with a 30-point lead over Pipp. Francisco Mancebo (ESP/Realcyclist.com) remains in the top spot, maintaining his 52-point edge on Jacobe Keough (Sandwich, Mass/UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling), who is in second. Carlos Alzate Escobar (COL/Team Exergy) assumed fifth place with 360 points.

In the men's team NRC standings, Bissell Pro Cycling expanded its lead over UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling to 102 points. Jamis-Sutter Home is in third place with 1,195 points, which is 122 ahead of Team Exergy. PureBlack Racing rounds out the top five with 809 points.

Cantwell took the top spot in the 85-lap race on a beautiful night in downtown Boise, Idaho. Last year's winner, Ben Kersten (Boulder, Colo./Fly V Australia) finished just behind Cantwell in second place. Ricky Escuela (Full Circle Sports) narrowly edged Carlos Alzate Escobar (COL/Team Exergy) to claim third. Each of the top four finishers recorded a time of 1:30:34.

The next event for the men will be the BMC Cascade Cycling Classic from July 19-24, in Bend, Ore.
