Devo Wrap: Carter Jonesing for a white jersey
A Best Young Rider Jersey earned by a rider at the Tour Cycliste International de la Guadeloupe highlighted a strong week for the riders of USA Cycling's National Development Program. In addition, a group of U23 cyclists posted standout results at the U23 Tour de la Province de Namur in Belgium while junior riders mounted a late surge at the Trofeo Karlsberg in Germany.
Tour Cycliste International de la Guadeloupe
The group of U23 riders contesting the Tour Cycliste International de la Guadeloupe in France registered a pair of stage wins and five stage podium appearances to place third overall as a team. Carter Jones (Boulder, Colo./Trek Livestrong U23) finished third in the general classification to earn the Best Young Rider Jersey. Jones registered a trio of third-place finishes through the 10-day, nine-stage race. Anders Newbury (Fairfield, Vt./Chipotle Development Team), who finished fourth in the 145.8-kilometer seventh stage, finished third in the King of the Mountains classification.
The team started strong as Nathan Brown (Covington, Tenn./Trek Livestrong U23) won the prologue, edging Jose Chacon (VEN/Gwada Bikers). Ryan Eastman (Petaluma, Calif./Trek Livestrong U23) placed fifth in the 80-kilometer second stage spanning Lamentin to Vieux Habitant. Lawson Craddock (Austin, Texas/Trek Livestrong U23) won the 90-kilometer road race spanning Sainte-Anne to Baillif in Belgium, comprising part of the eighth stage. Max Durtschi (Boulder, Colo./Chipotle Development Team) also contested the race for USA Cycling.

The U23 Tour de la Province de Namur finished on Wednesday, Aug. 10 in Belgium. The six riders representing USA Cycling produced strong results, placing three riders in the top 30 finishers overall and the team placed third in the team general classification. After spending some time in the yellow leader's jersey in the early stages, Tanner Putt (Roswell, Ga./Team Type 1 Development) earned a third-place finish while Ty Magner (Athens, Ga./Team Type 1 Development) was 21st and Larry Warbasse (Traverse City, Mich./BMC Racing) finished 30th.

JUNIORS
A group of junior riders contested the Trofeo Karlsberg, a four-stage race in Germany. Alex Darville (Santa Barbara, Calif./Echelon Santa Barbara) registered the team's best result in the general classification, placing 30th, just 2:23 behind the winner. Colby Wait-Molyneux (Vancouver, Wash./Hammer Nutrition-CMG Racing Team) finished nearly nine minutes behind the winner in 58th place. Darville recorded a pair of single-stage sixth-place results while Wait-Molyneux finished fifth in the individual time trial. Paul Lynch (Colchester, Conn./Hot Tubes Development Cycling) added an 11th-place finish in the third stage.
