2012 U.S. Olympic Trials - Cycling: BMX
The 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials for BMX took place on Saturday, June 16, at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. Participants, who had previously been named to USA Cycling's BMX men's long team, competed in two time trials, three motos, and a single, main event final in order to determine a winner, who then earned an automatic nomination to the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team.

Friday, June 15
- 2 p.m. — Pre-race media availability period on the London-replica track at the Chula Vista OTC — Open to Accredited Media Only (Please see below for credentialing information)
Saturday, June 16
- 8 a.m. - Expo area opens
- 1 p.m. — Doors Open to Public
- 1:10 - 2:30 p.m. — Athlete Warm-up
- 3 p.m. — Opening Ceremony
- 3:05 p.m. — Time Trials begin
- 3:55 p.m. — Moto 1
- 4:25 p.m. — Moto 2
- 4:45 p.m. — Moto 3
- 5:10 p.m. — Finals
- 5:15 p.m. — Award Ceremony
- 5:30 p.m. — Post-Race Press Conference — Open to Accredited Media Only
- 6 p.m. — Expo Closes

Event Format

*replacement athlete – eligible to replace any athlete who experiences injury, illness, or any foreseen incident prior to the start of the event.
Tickets
General admission tickets will be available for purchase by the general public on site at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. General admission tickets are $10.00. Children 4 years and under are free.
V.I.P. tickets will also be available for purchase onsite. V.I.P. tickets include premium spectator area as well as complementary food and beverage. V.I.P. tickets cost $75.

The event is set to be televised on the NBC Sports Network on Saturday, June 23 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. ET.Media Credentialing
Credentials will be required for all members of the working press at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials for BMX. Space is limited and credentials will be reserved for members of the working press on assignment. No requests from teams, coaches, sponsors, family and/or friends will be accepted. Photographers requesting track access should be sure to designate via the portal and be prepared to provide assignment letter.

Photographers:
Photographers requesting track access should check the appropriate box on the portal page under “Media Information” and should be prepared to provide assignment letter. Photo vests are limited, will be prioritized, and are reserved for members of the working press on assignment. Accredited photographers will be REQUIRED to wear photo vests for access to designated photo areas and should be prepared to leave a credit card, ID or $10 deposit for the vest.
Broadcast/Video Restrictions:
All broadcasters and video personnel should be advised that non-rights holding broadcasters may NOT record any video that includes the field of play. Please reference the complete News Access Guidelines for more information.Credential pick-up:
Media check-in will be held in the Athlete Check-In building at the Olympic Training Center. A media workroom will be available in the USA Room (across from the Athlete Check-in building).
Please note that a completed media credentials application does not guarantee access. Confirmations will be issued via email. Members of the working press may also receive credentials on-site by providing an assignment letter.
