Hundreds of the nation’s top young track cyclists are expected to flock to the VPCC July 11-15, 2012 and on a date to be determined in 2013. More than 20 track cycling national titles across age divisions from 10-18 years will be awarded throughout the five-day competition.
“The Valley Preferred Cycling Center has an outstanding record of hosting world-class track cycling events and after a record turnout for the 2010 event, the VPCC and its professional staff was the clear-cut favorite to host the event again in 2012 and 2013,” said USA Cycling Managing Director of National Events Micah Rice.
The 333-meter outdoor velodrome is considered one of the nation’s premiere track cycling facilities. Since the mid-1970s, the Valley Preferred Cycling Center has hosted World Cups, Olympic trials, the Junior World Championships (twice), national championships and countless major international competitions, creating stars and producing top international competitors. One of the most enduring and significant developmental programs in the country, with over 23,000 riders coming through its community programs over the last 35 years, the VPCC seems a natural fit for the Juniors Track National Championships.
