USAC Talent ID Camps invite 26 to Tour of Ireland; Le Tour de l'Abitibi

Print USA Cycling’s Talent ID Camps award 26 start spots to juniors at Tour of Ireland and Le Tour de l’Abitibi
So far this summer, more than 100 committed young cyclists have attended USA Cycling’s Talent ID Camps around the country to receive instruction from some of the nation’s top coaches and to hone their bike racing skills.
USA Cycling is excited to announce today that based on camp performances, 26 of those junior cyclists have been invited to gain international racing experience while representing the USA at two world-class events later this month.
Two teams were chosen from the West Coast and Northeast Talent ID Camps to compete in the Tour of Ireland, July 11-16, and three teams were chosen from the Southeast, Arizona, and Colorado Talent ID Camps to contest Le Tour de l’Abitibi, July 17-23.
“Providing juniors with the opportunity to not only develop as athletes at camp, but also to earn a start spot at a major junior stage race is a unique opportunity,” said USA Cycling’s Athlete Development Director, Kevin Dessart. “For many of these riders, it will be their first international racing experience, not to mention their first time out of the U.S. for many of them.”
