The calendar’s second event is the Fixed Gear Classic from June 6-8 at the National Sports Center Velodrome in Blaine, Minn. The following week, the calendar spins into the $2500 Midwest Challenge at MTV which will be held June 14-15 at the Major Taylor Velodrome. The first west coast date on the calendar is slated for June 28-29 at the Hellyer Velodrome Challenge in San Jose, Calif. The country’s best track sprinters will contest the U.S. Grand Prix of Sprinting on July 12-13 at the Velodrome at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs, Colo. On July 19-21, the riders will head to the Pacific northwest to compete in the Marymoor Grand Prix at the Marymoor Velodrome in Redmond, Wash. The calendar’s penultimate event – scheduled between the national championships – will be the Grand Prix on Sept. 14 at the VELO Sports Center.

"We are excited to kick off the second year of the NTC," National Events Manager Tony Leko said. "Last year's calendar generated a lot of buzz, and we look forward to building off of that enthusiasm with another great lineup of top-level American races."

In 2012, USA Cycling crowned four people who topped the final NTC standings. Zachary Kovalcik (Portland, Ore./Sizzle Pie Cycling p/b Veloforma) and Cari Higgins (Boulder, Colo./Exergy Twenty12) topped the men’s and women’s endurance standings, respectively. On the sprint side, Giddeon Massie (Cypress, Calif./Bike Religion) and Tela Crane (Sammamish, Wash./Broadmark Capital) emerged as the nation’s best.

The endurance riders will compete in points race, scratch race, individual pursuit, Madison and team pursuit. The sprinters will contest the match sprint, time trial and keirin.
