Summer Development Opportunities for Young Cyclists
Are you a young rider looking to take your career up a notch?
Whether you're ready to enter USA Cycling's development pathway or take it to the next level in Europe, USA Cycling has the opportunities!
BOYS' 15/16 EUROPEAN RACE CAMP - Deadline to apply is June 23!
Highly motivated young riders are invited to apply for a spot at one of two USA Cycling Boys' 15/16 European Race Camps.
Camp A is scheduled for July 11 - July 30 and Camp B is scheduled for August 1 - August 20. Both camps will be based at the USA Cycling House in Izegem, Belgium with the purpose of exposing young cyclists to the subtleties and specific nuances of international competition and life in a foreign country. Past camp participants have included current USA Cycling National Development Program riders Nathan Brown, Matthew Lipscomb, Logan Owen, Colin Joyce, Jacob Rathe, Lawson Craddock, and Adam Leibovitz.
All applications must be received no later than 11:59 pm. PDT on Saturday, June 23. CLICK HERE for the application and for more details about the application process.
Winning applicants will be notified by Monday, June 25, 2012. Full payment will be due Wednesday, June 27 at which time flights will be booked and ticketed by USA Cycling.
USA CYCLING REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT CAMPS - Camps got underway in June; More scheduled for July!
Part of USA Cycling's development pathway, Regional Development Camps are held in road and cross-country mountain bike and are open to riders racing age 14 to 22 who meet USA Cycling's eligibility requirements. These camps are great places to be discovered by USA Cycling.
Some participants may be invited to move further along the development pathway through participation in national development camps and international competition. Our development camp coaches are always looking for exceptional young talent, like Geoffrey Curran and TJ Eisenhart, both who recently qualified for USA Cycling's team for the Junior Road World Championships after honing their talents at multiple Regional Development Camps.
