Geoff Proctor named Cyclocross Performance Consultant for USA Cycling

Print Colorado Springs, Colo. (September 19, 2017) – USA Cycling announced today that Geoff Proctor has been named Cyclocross Performance Consultant for USA Cycling.
“Geoff is a true expert in developing cyclocross athletes and we are very pleased he is lending his expertise to our team,” commented USA Cycling CEO Derek Bouchard-Hall. “We have some fantastic talent in American cyclocross, and Geoff will help us to provide that talent the best support we can.”
Performance Directors and Consultants are tasked with ensuring that the needs of America’s top cyclists are fully met. They will work directly with athletes on developing objectives, monitoring progress, optimizing training and competition schedules, and fully leveraging all available resources from USA Cycling, the U.S. Olympic Committee, and USA Cycling technical partners – including world class coaching, state of the art equipment and clothing, nutrition guidance, sports psychology, and more. Performance Directors and Consultants are a new component to an enhanced High Performance Program being developed and led by Jim Miller, USA Cycling’s VP of High Performance.
Proctor has been involved in competitive cycling and athlete development for more than 25 years. He has worked closely with USA Cycling for much of his career, serving as National Junior/U23 Cyclocross Coach and directing U.S. and European-based developmental camps. Highly respected for his deep understanding of the cyclocross discipline, Proctor is an appointee to the UCI Cyclocross Commission, which is responsible for international development, competition calendars, and rule setting. He and his family live in Helena, MT.
“Coaching cyclocross is my passion” offered Proctor. “It is an honor to be working more closely with USA Cycling right now as it is increasing its focus on athlete development and world class coaching.”
