Pro XCT: Final rankings come into focus at Specialized Catamount Classic

A week after Todd Wells (Durango, Colo./Specialized Racing) and Katerina Nash (CZE/Luna Pro Team) sewed up the men’s and women’s Pro XCT titles, women’s riders vied for the remaining spots in the top five. Nash capped things off in style, finishing second at the Specialized Catamount Classic and upping her winning point total to a final 1400. Erin Huck (Boulder, Colo./Tokyo Joe's-VCGraphix.com) jumped from fourth to second in the standings with 920 points thanks to a fifth-place effort at the Classic, while Evelyn Dong (Salt Lake City, Utah/Backcountry.com) dropped from second to third with 915 points after not competing at the event. Catharine Pendrel’s (CAN/Luna Pro Team) 800 points remained unchanged after not recording any points this week, dropping her ranking from third to fourth. Georgia Gould (Fort Collins, Colo./Luna Pro Team) worked her way into the top five with 800 points after taking third at the Specialized Catamount Classic.
The men’s top five remained unscathed following the Specialized Catamount Classic, as none of the riders recorded any points at the event. Wells took the men’s title with 1150 points, followed by Geoff Kabush (CAN/Scott-3Rox Racing) with 815, Max Plaxton (CAN/Cannondale Factory Team) with 665, Derek Zandstra (CAN/3-Rox Racing) with 560 and Russell Finsterwald (Colorado Springs, Colo./SRAM-Troy Lee Designs) with 532.
Team
The team standings top four remained unchanged following the final week of Pro XCT competition, as Luna Pro Team capped off the season with 375 points, upping its first-place total to 2425 points. Specialized Racing finished second with 1910 points, followed by Trek Factory with 1125 and Sho-Air/Cannondale with 749. Sneaking into the final top five, BMC MTB Racing overtook the fifth spot with 720 points, giving the team standings its only change of the week.
