USA Cycling's Pro Gravity Tour (Pro GRT) kicked off over the weekend with the NW Cup #1 in Port Angeles, Wash. on April 20. Taking the top steps of the podium, as well as the early leads in the Pro GRT standings, were Kevin Aiello (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif./KHS Factory Racing) and Miranda Miller (CAN/Specialized-SRAM MTB).

The race, which was also the first stop of the Northwest Cup, featured the typical weather of the Northwest with sun changing to rain in an instant. However, the weather didn't stop the nearly 120 pro riders from taking to the trails at Dry Hill.

PRO WOMEN

Miller took the win in the pro women's contest by nearly six seconds. Her time of 2:51.54 put her on the top step of the podium ahead of second- and third-place finishers Vaea Berbeeck (CAN/Intense-Go Pro-Troy Lee Design) and Danice Uyesugi (N. Vancouver, Wash./Intense National Team) who completed the course with times of 2:57.59 and 3:04.42 respectively. Rounding out the women's top five were Jaime Hill (CAN/JulianaBic-SantaCruz-Troy Lee Design) in fourth with a 3:07.34 and Jaime Rees (Spokane, Wash./Liv-Giant-The Bike Hub) in fifth with a 3:12.67.
