NRC: Mancebo and TIBCO-To the Top clinch top standings spots
Francisco Mancebo (ESP/5-Hour Energy p/b Kenda) finished fifth in Oregon and has clinched the top spot of the NRC men's standings with 814 points and only one men's race remaining on the calendar. Sergei Tvetcov (MOLDOVA/Jelly Belly Cycling) topped the general classification in Oregon, edging Joey Rosskopf (Athens, Ga./Hincapie Sportswear Development Team) by only six seconds. In topping the men's results, Tvetcov moves into fourth place of the standings with 428 total points. For his efforts, Rosskopf boosts his season-long total to 518 points to hold third place. Chad Haga (Colorado Springs, Colo./Team Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies), who finished third, only eight seconds behind Tvetcov, sits in second place in the standings with 554 points. Jesse Anthony (Beverly, Mass./Team Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies) rounds out the top five with 380 points.
Claudia Haeusler (GER/Team TIBCO-To the Top) finished second to Kristin McGrath (Boise, Idaho/Exergy TWENTY16) in the women's general classification in Oregon. Haeusler remains the leaders of the NRC women's standings with 1,032 points, 88 points ahead of Alison Powers (Pinecliffe, Colo./NOW and Novartis for MS), who placed fourth overall in the race. Shelley Olds (Gilroy, Calif./Team TIBCO-To the Top) holds third place with 748 points, 100 points ahead of the fourth-place rider Joelle Numainville (CAN/Team Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies). Mara Abbott (Boulder, Colo./Exergy TWENTY16) is sitting in fifth with 624 points.
Team TIBCO-To the Top secured the top spot of the NRC women's team standings with 2,438 points with only one woman's event remaining. Team Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies sits in second place with 1,686 points, 224 points ahead of NOW and Novartis for MS, which is in third place. Exergy TWENTY16 holds fourth place with 1,262 points while Specialized-lululemon is in fifth place with 738 points.With two riders in the top eight of the general classification in Oregon, Team Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies expanded its lead to 560 points in the NRC men's team standings. 5-Hour Energy p/b Kenda remains in second place with 1,160 points, 194 points behind 5-Hour Energy p/b Kenda and 116 points ahead of fourth-place Hincapie Sportswear Development Team, which moved up one spot into fourth place. Jelly Belly Cycling completes the top five with 808 points, only 42 points out of fourth place.

The next event, the Tour of Elk Grove, in Elk Grove, Ill., will feature the women's racing for NRC points from Aug. 2-4. The calendar concludes on Sept. 7 with the Thompson Bucks County Classic in Doylestown, Pa., where the men will have their final chance to compete for precious standings points. |
