As this year comes to a close and I start training for next year, I can’t help but think about all of the people who helped me get to where I am today. This year, was my most successful season so far and none of it would have been possible without help from the cycling community. There are way too many people to name and probably more than I even know that have supported me in one way or another and I would like to thank everyone. Your cheers, encouragement, donations, and faith in me go a long way and mean more than you know to me.

The USA Cycling National Development Program and the Chipotle Development Team provided me with incredible opportunities to chase my dreams around the world this year and it has been an extraordinary ride so far.

The last two months for me included a few weeks off the bike and the beginning of the 2012 season. Taking time off the bike is more of an interruption in routine rather than a welcome break. I really enjoy the habitual training and traveling that constitute the life of an aspiring cyclist and to have to stop is like tossing a big stick in my spokes. That being said, getting back into the swing of things is always tough. I started training again recently and just completed some physiological testing this past week to set training parameters. This, coupled with a visit from my teammates, got me going again and I’m really looking forward to 2012.

I had such a good time throughout 2011, racing and hanging out with my teammates, that topping it is going to be a tall order. Like last year, I’m going to move to Tucson, Ariz., for the winter months to build some fitness before my first race. Tucson is a great place to train due to the nice weather and has become increasingly comfortable every year. It is turning into a familiar home away from home, where I can focus on getting fit for next year.

Thanks for everything this year and I hope to keep the good momentum rolling into 2012!
