Travel
to Madison is inexpensive, and we have made it a priority to get you and
your beloved racing machine safely around the area. For your planning, Madison
is in Central Standard Time.
If you drive:
- Parking
is free for overnight guests at The Madison Concourse. There is a limit
of one parking space in the hotel garage per guest room. Please be conservative
in your parking, as there is very little parking on the Isthmus and
parking violations are expensive and bothersome. We recommend bringing
vehicles with five-to-eight passenger seating capacity, such as a minivan.
The parking garage offers a clearance of only 8 feet, so don’t
drive in with your bikes still on top!!!!

- United
Airlines flies into Madison’s Dane Co. Regional Airport for the
same fare as flights to Milwaukee and Chicago United is the USCF’s
official airline, especially considering its free bike vouchers to USCF
license holders, and services Madison’s airport with ten flights
daily.
- A race
staff member will be welcoming teams who fly in on Thursday at the baggage
claim. S/he will direct you to the Trek Bikes box truck outside for
safe transport of your bike straight to the host hotel, and then to
the Madison Concourse Hotel & Governor’s Club courtesy phone
to call for your shuttle.
- If you
choose to fly into another airport, limited bus service is available
through private vendors: Badger Coaches from Milwaukee (1-800-GoBucky),
Coach USA/Van Galder from O’Hare (www.coachusa.com).
These typically cost between $15 and $25 one way and do not include
bike transportation.
Getting
Around Madison
You will
most likely never need to go far for anything, but if you do here are
your options:
Cars:
There is a limit of one parking space in the hotel garage per guest room.
Please be conservative in your parking, as there is very little parking
on the Isthmus and parking violations are expensive and bothersome. We
recommend bringing vehicles with five-to-eight passenger seating capacity,
such as a minivan. The parking garage offers a clearance of only 8 feet,
so don’t drive in with your bikes still on top!!!!
Bikes:
You will be staying in one of the most bike-accessible cities in the U.S.,
so biking within reasonable distance is safe and easy. It’s not
safe enough, however, to leave your bike unattended, so bring it in with
you.
Concierge:
The Concourse Hotel offers complimentary concierge service to all guests.
Sorry, this is not an option for those that choose not to stay at the
race hotel, but taxi service is available.
Hotel Shuttle:
This will be getting you from the airport to the hotel and back again.
If large groups are organized, you may ask the concierge if a van is available
to take you on errands.
Transportation
Package
Add Transportation
to your basic registration fee, and you’ll receive a transportation
pass that will get you:
- Your transportation.
Coach busses will make trips between The Concourse and the race course
on Saturday and Sunday. Busses will arrive two hours before the start
of every race and continue in waves throughout the day. You will receive
a complete schedule when you arrive in Madison, as much depends on registrants.
- Bike transportation.
We will transport your bike in a Trek Bicycle Company box truck to and
from the race courses. You will receive a bike tag corresponding to
your bib number. The bike security personnel will lock the bikes in
the truck and park it overnight in a very safe locale. To make sure
that no one mixes up their bike with someone else’s, we will have
bike and racer check-in and check-out at the courses. (You will be allowed
to take your bike out for cleaning in the evening).
