NCCA Road Championship Host Hotel

Host Hotel
ATTENTION RIDERS & COACHES - Please be aware the lodging situation in Madison is slightly different than past Collegiate Road Nationals. The race organizers have negotiated a significantly discounted rate at a wonderful property (The Madison Concourse Hotel) located in downtown just walking distance from the criterium course. They have combined the lodging deal with tickets to the banquet, airport transportation, breakfast on Saturday & Sunday, and three race entries into a package that is very affordable per person. In order to secure this great room rate, the hotel has insisted that the organizers take financial responsibility for the room block. Under this agreement, the organizers are managing both the reservations for the teams and race staff at the host hotel, as well as race registration. Please take note of this and contact the Woolly Mammoth Promotions staff directly at 608-438-9435 before you make your lodging arrangements in Madison. The Concourse Hotel will serve as race headquarters for the event, as they will have start sheets and results posted, host registration, breakfast before Saturday & Sunday racing, as well as meetings for riders and collegiate cycling administrators.

On behalf of the race organizers, we look forward to hosting you and your team in Madison and thank you for your consideration.

We have dug up the rates and perks of hotels in downtown Madison and on the outskirts, and the best deal we found was by far The Concourse Hotel and Governor’s Club a business class hotel that puts you right in the middle of the Isthmus, Madison’s downtown and campus. You should really stay at this hotel, for so very many reasons:

1. The Concourse is one of our generous sponsors, having paid for our banquet space and reduced their fees is lieu of the fact that we’re all college students.
2. You’ll be six blocks from the Crit course, ten minutes from decent warm-up riding, and walking distance from all the fun you care to take in. You should not have to stay in the boon docks among the super-malls, used car dealerships and interstate highway for the same price.
3. Breakfast will be an extremely nutritious, multi-optioned, private buffet, designed by racers, and is rolled into your registration fee.
4. A bike wash station will be provided on the base level of the parking garage and will be open each day.
5. Bike and racer transports to and from the airport and race courses will go only to the host hotel.
6. Registration and Orientation will be held in the Concourse meeting rooms.
Check out the hotel’s web site at http://www.concoursehotel.com.

Awards Banquet:
The Monona Terrace
Date: Saturday, May 22nd
Time: 7:30 – 10:30 p.m.

The Monona Terrace
Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built eight years ago, the Monona Terrace Convention Center is the finest facility of its kind in Madison. A modern rendering of his vision for Lake Monona’s Northwestern shore, the center honors his memory and futuristic vision.

The Food
Since you’d probably prefer to choose what you want to eat the night before a time trial, the banquet will be a buffet as opposed to a plated dinner. This is more expensive for us but better for you, since we know as racers that you’ll want as much control over what you eat on Saturday to fuel Sunday’s race. Monona Terrace Catering has let us design a gourmet buffet that will have one vegetarian entrée option, two non-vegetarian, and plenty of veggies, bread and fruit. There will also be a cash bar in the lobby.

Presenters
These people need no introduction. We’ll just let you know a bit about who they are, in case you forgot.
Greg Lemond, Tour De France winner.
Jonathan Vaughters, Tour De France veteran, Quarts team director.
Tom Schuler, former Saturn team Manager, owner Team Sports Inc., former 7-11 rider.
And more…
