USA Cycling Club of the Year Awards
(COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.) December 16, 2003—USA Cycling announced today the recipients of its annual USA Cycling Club of the Year awards. Ten cycling clubs throughout the country have been given the award based on excellence in three overall divisions and seven special categories.
Overall divisions were determined by how versatile and active a club was in proportion to the number of its members. Judges based their decision on the number of cycling events the club held, outstanding competitive results, educational clinics and seminars, and community related activities the club participated in.
Special awards focused on juniors, women, track cycling, mountain biking, collegiate and master clubs as well as the best new club of 2003. These clubs were evaluated on the growth potential of their respective discipline or categories.
And the winners are…
Collegiate Club of the Year –
Rams Cycling; Colorado State University
Mountain Bike Club of the Year –
Nevada Union High School; Nevada City, Calif.
Track Club of the Year –
East Coast Velo; Mohnton, Pa.
Best New Club of 2003 –
Skylands Cycling; Sussex N.J.
Women’s Club of the Year –
Bay Area Velo Girls; San Mateo, Calif.
Master’s Club of the Year –
Mercy Fitness; Fort Smith, Ark.
Junior/High School Club of the Year –
RAD Racing; Olympia, Wash.
Division III Club of the Year –
Desert Foxes; Tucson, Az.
Division II Club of the Year –
Artemis; Silver Spring, Md.
Division I Club of the Year –
Team Snow Valley; Annapolis, Md.
