Kevin Dessart, Coaching Education and Athlete Development Director

Kevin has been involved with athletics his entire life. Growing up on Long Island, NY, Kevin was exposed to a multitude of sports including, swimming, hockey, baseball, football, triathlon, x-country skiing, etc.

A graduate of St. John’s University, NY, he majored in Athletic Administration and has been involved in the sports business his entire career. Following his graduation from St. John’s, Kevin began working for the New York Islanders and over the next 11 years he worked with two additional NHL Teams, the Florida Panthers and NJ Devils. With the Panthers, Kevin was one of the inaugural staff members responsible for establishing the team. After a number of years with the Panthers, he moved on to the NJ Devils where he was fortunate enough to be with the team during the 2000 season when the Devils won the Stanley Cup. Following the 2000 season, he left hockey and helped establish the NY Power Professional Women’s Soccer Club in the newly created WUSA. After the team’s inaugural season, Kevin left the club to move out to Colorado Springs where he began working for Carmichael Training Systems (CTS).

During his time with CTS, he not only enhanced his professional career, but also his personal passion for Triathlon. Kevin has competed in the Ironman World Championships eight times and has completed over 15 Ironman distance triathlons. Beside his competing in the World Championships, his greatest accomplishments in triathlon was twice being the overall Age-Group Champion at Ironman Arizona and holding the course record in the 40-44 AG.

Kevin’s passion for an active lifestyle, is only trumped by his passion for his family. Married to Tina (they met while both swimming for the Ft. Lauderdale Masters team), they have three children, Justin, Julia and Sara, who also seem to be following in their parents' footsteps.
