Ordering Introduction to Coaching Cyclists

Thank you for your interest in Introduction to Coaching Cyclists.  While the manual is geared toward people wanting to become a certified coach, the information is applicable to the self-coached rider as well. 

You may order through a USA CYCLING account if:
  • you have created a USA CYCLING account at the USAC website
  • the manual is being being sent to a US address,
  • you are paying by Visa or Mastercard.
The preferred method of ordering is through your USA CYCLING account via the USA Cycling website. Ordering through the website saves you money, time, and is more secure compared to mailing or faxing in the form.

The manual is available by Logging in to your account and clicking HERE (This link will not work unless you are logged into your USA Cycling account)


Hardcopy manuals ordered online will generally be mailed via USPS within 10 business days.  The cost of the manual if ordered online is $35 for the PDF version and $45 for both the hardcopy and PDF download.  24 Hour service is not available for manual shipping. The PDF version of the manual and Level 3 test is available immediately in your account once your order is processed. It can be found in the "Coaching Links (including tests)" link.

Can I order the manual through a friend's or family member's USA CYCLING account?
NO!  The test will then made available through that person's account and the test will show up under his/her name.  Please create your own account (it is free).


Ordering if you do not have a USA CYCLING account

If you do not have a USA CYCLING account, you can order via the website by creating a free USA CYCLING account and following the instructions above.

You do not need to be a USAC license holder or pay a fee to create a USA CYCLING account.  To create an account, click on Sign In from the homepage of www.usacycling.org and then create an account.

Do not want to create an account?

If you do not wish to order through the USA Cycling website, click HERE. You can complete this form and mail or fax it to the address on the form. The materials that will be mailed. Allow two weeks for manuals ordered using the mail or faxed form. The cost of ordering the manual via fax or mail is $45 plus tax (if applicable).

However, in order to take the exam, you will need to do so online.  For this you will need to create an account at the USAC website.  If you order the manual in the manner above, when you are ready to take the exam, you will need to contact the Coaching Education Director.

What if I want the book shipped outside the US?

If you want a manual shipped to an address outside the United States, you must order by fax or mail and add $20 for a total cost of $65.


The passing grade is 80%.  If you do not pass the exam, you will need to wait fourteen (14) days to re-take the exam.  If you fail the exam, you will not be able to see the questions you missed.  When you pass the exam, the missed questions will be shown to you.

Once you start the test, you will need to return at least once every 14 days to answer a question or the test will be "zero'ed out", and you will need to start all over. 

Please read the test instructions at the start of the test carefully.

Once you order Introduction to Coaching Cyclists, you have access to the online level 3 exam through your MYUSACYCLING account under SPECIAL ROLES.
