Missoula XC presented by Zillastate preparing to hold Junior World Cup Event

The Missoula XC presented by Zillastate is a week away for what is to be another great Montana Summer weekend (June 20th - June 22nd) of mountain bike racing. Race Director, Ben Horan said, “The course has been riding great during our Wednesday Night Beer League races. We’ve had just the right amount of rain this week, and it’s really setting up to be a fast day.”

World Cup Junior XCO

New this year is a Junior World Cup XCO race which offers the maximum amount of World Cup points for Junior Racers.

“We were asked by USA Cycling to hold one of two Junior World Cup cross country events in North America for 2014 and we jumped at the opportunity. We’re lucky enough to have a European World Cup style course, and USA Cycling thought of our venue when the UCI changed the Elite World Cup XC format for 2014.” , said Horan. Horan went on, “The response to the Junior XCO Series has been off the charts. We’re expecting a very deep field for this event, I’ve been blown away by the amount of interest and support for an event like this. It says a lot about the future of Elite mountain biking for our part of the country and the world!”
