LA Call Minutes- 5.25.16

LA call – Wednesday, May 25th
  • Stefanie Larson- USAC- Thank you all for joining us on the call today.  We have a packed agenda so we’ll jump right in.  First I would like to bring Jeffrey Hansen in for a membership update.

  • Jeffrey Hansen- USAC- Experienced One-day and Ride Membership 2.0
    • Experienced One-day Race license
      • We are cautiously optimistic we’re getting close.  This should be ready for the online implementation within the next couple of weeks.
      • Once it’s ready we’ll do some testing to make sure there are no issues
      • Reminder: This is a one-day that is able to be purchased once per person, per year for $25 online.
      • This is only available online so we’re able to enforce the once per person for the year caveat.  This is perfect for former members who are non-beginners that want to race and haven’t in a few years or for those who are on the fence about trying racing again.
      • More details to follow via e-mail.
      • The implementation will be similar to beginner one-days
      • Questions?
    • Judy Rhyne- CCA- I have a female racer that wants to use this for a race this weekend.  Can we let her via paper copy?
    • Jeffrey Hansen-USAC- Unfortunately, not at this time.  Folks that want to race before it is ready online must purchase an annual.
    • Ride Membership 2.0
      • We launched the Ride Membership in September of last year.  We had tremendous success with existing members adding it.  We haven’t tried too hard to tell new people about it because of our purchase process (long journey of 35 clicks and 5 pages later), but we’re hoping to make that a smoother process with less cart abandonment.
      • We’ll have two purchase paths.
        • There will be an improved purchase path for those new people who want to buy the membership.
          • We will drive more marketing after that’s implemented.
      • This is coming soon and will provide more details once we have it ready.
      • We will focus on bringing on new members that have never affiliated with USAC in the past.
      • We’re adding road side assistance and more benefits while keeping the price at $50

  • Jon Whiteman- USAC- RaceClean update
    • RaceClean logo
      • Thank you for putting our logo on your websites.
      • Now that we’ve announced the new logo, as soon as we get the logos with the additions on it, we will send it out to everyone with instructions.  Please have it link back to the RaceClean page.
    • Testing
      • There are another 20+ tests scheduled for the RaceClean program
    • TUE
      • Last month we tackled the TUE topic
      • We received a ton of feedback and questions
      • We will continue TUE education
    • Feedback

    • Growing officials
      • Please help us push the one free official’s license for every club.
      • Throughout the country we face the struggle of lack of officials.
      • Any efforts to help advertise to your clubs is greatly appreciated.

      • I will open this up to the floor for some discussion.
    • Kurt Holzer- SWICA- During the Summit last year we asked for co-branding materials from USAC.
      • Poster form to allow us to co-brand.  Where are those templates?
      • These templates are a wide range of things that would be useful to RDs and LAs.
    • Joan Hanscom– USAC- We agree with you.
      • This was one of the projects that got tabled since we knew we were redesigning our logo.
      • We will get those materials out quickly now that we officially have the new logo design.
      • We will better communicate our timeline.
      • We have an internal production list.

      • We have been duplicating what USAC has been doing with Instagram and Twitter.
