Juniors Track World Championships conclude in Korea on Tuesday

Gwangmyeong, Korea (August 12, 2014) —The 2014 UCI Juniors Track World Championships concluded in Korea on Tuesday. The top result for Team USA Cycling after the five days was Danielle Mullis' (Rochester, Mich./West Michigan Coast Riders) seventh-place scratch race result on Friday.

On Tuesday, Mullis closed out Track Worlds for the USA as the lone American in the women's keirin where she was eliminated in the repechage round.  The event was won by Belgian Nicky Degrendele.

Tuesday's action also included the final three events of the women's omnium. Thanks to her win in the omnium's scratch race on Monday, Kirsten Williams (Lonetree, Colo./TWENTY16 Junior Development Team) was in an impressive fifth-place after the first three events. However, the American suffered a broken wrist in Monday's elimination race which prevented her from starting the remaining three events on Tuesday. In the final omnium classification, she ranked 13th while the event was won by Macey Stewart (AUS). USA Cycling congratulates Kirsten on her impressive performance and wishes her a speedy recovery!
