Junior Development Race Series

The USA Cycling Junior Development Race Series (JDRS) consolidates the different calendars of events that highlight quality racing opportunities for young cyclists. In 2016, the JDRS will include the Road Development Race Series (RDRS) and the Mountain Bike Development Race Series (MDRS) (part of the American Mountain Bike Challenge), with a cyclo-cross series in development.

Each branch of the JDRS aims to grow junior racing by developing long-term partnerships with race organizers who will create safe and fun racing opportunities for boys and girls, young men and women. The program also seeks to identify potential cycling talent among junior athletes and act as a pipeline for our regional talent ID camps.

Mountain Bike Development Race Series

The USA Cycling Mountain Bike Development Race Series has been in existence under different series and calendars since 2000. Formerly known as the Alison Dunlap Junior Race Series and currently a part of the American Mountain Bike Challenge, this program has provided mountain bike racing opportunities for aspiring junior males and females across the United States.

Road Development Race Series

The USA Cycling Road Development Race Series has provided opportunities for aspiring junior riders across the United States for more than 20 years. Through the cooperation and hard work of event organizers, the program has evolved into a nationally-recognized calendar that encourages junior and espoir-aged racing while identifying potential talent for our regional talent ID camps and national development program. More info on the RDRS.
