Personal
Judy Freeman swam in her early years consistently competing in state-level events. She played varsity lacrosse in high school and was a freshman walk on the varsity lacrosse squad for the University of Colorado’s club team.Mostly a recreational rider through college, Judy Freeman didn’t get into racing until she was 25, when her friends at the Pedal Power Bike Shop in Vail, Colo. convinced her it’d be a good idea. She hopped in a beginner race, crashed right off the start line, got run over by the field, got up, won her category and has been hooked ever since.
Freeman has recorded impressive results in national championships since 2005 and represented the United States at the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in 2009 and 2011, when she placed 39th and 41st, respectively.
When she’s not pedaling a bike, to stay fit Freeman enjoys yoga and cross-country skiing.
Freeman regularly rides with her local high school mountain bike team, the Fairview Knights.
