Hopes for a full and speedy recovery to Dr. Ed Farrar

Colorado Springs, Colo. (October 24, 2008)--USA Cycling would like to wish Dr. Ed Farrar a speedy recovery following a collision on Wednesday when he was hit head-on by a car while cycling in his hometown of Wenatchee, Wash.

Farrar, father of professional cyclist and USA Cycling National Development Team alumnus Tyler Farrar, is currently listed in serious condition with an injury to his spine, according to a Central Washington Hospital spokeswoman.

A longtime orthopedic surgeon and community cycling enthusiast, Dr. Farrar helped create the Wenatchee Valley Velo Cycling Club and is a fixture in the local medical and cycling communities.

USA Cycling extends its warmest wishes to the entire Farrar family, their friends and the Wenatchee cycling community and hopes for a full and quick recovery.
