Devo Wrap: Racing in the Netherlands is no Small feat

Drentse 8 van Dwingeloo

At the Drentse 8 van Dwingeloo on Thursday, Carmen Small (Durango, Colo./Team Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies) and Andrea Dvorak (Crozet, Va./Exergy Twenty12) were the contingent's best finishers, completing the 141.2 kilometers 16 seconds behind the winner, placing 45th and 57th, respectively. Small and Dvorak registered six and three sprint points to place third and fourth in that classification.

Theresa Cliff-Ryan (Cedar Springs, Mich./Exergy Twenty12) was 1:03 behind the winner, Chloe Hosking (AUS). Robin Farina (Charlotte, N.C./NOW and Novartis) and Jackie Crowell (Maitland, Fla./Exergy Twenty12) each finished 4:42 behind Hosking's time of 3:41:15.

Ronde van Drenthe

At Saturday's Ronde van Drenthe in the Netherlands, four riders from the USA Cycling contingent finished in the main group. Each of the USA Cycling riders finished the 132.8-kilometer road race in 3:39:55, which was 7:54 behind the winner, Marianne Vos (NED).

In the official results, Robin Farina (Charlotte, N.C./NOW and Novartis) was 73rd while Theresa Cliff-Ryan (Cedar Springs, Mich./Exergy Twenty12), Andrea Dvorak (Crozet, Va./Exergy Twenty12) and Carmen Small (Durango, Colo./Team Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies) finished 77th, 78th and 79th, respectively.

Novilon Eurocup

A late breakaway spelled the difference at the Novilon Eurocup Sunday in the Netherlands. In the general classification, Carmen Small (Durango, Colo./Team Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies) and Robin Farina (Charlotte, N.C./NOW and Novartis) finished in the main group as Small placed 17th, while Farina was 41st, just 2:26 and 2:39 behind the winner Marianne Vos (NED). Theresa Cliff-Ryan (Cedar Springs, Mich./Exergy Twenty12) placed 58th, 4:25 behind Vos.

Beginning Thursday, the following six U23 men will contest the Istarsko proljece-Istrian Spring Trophy, a four-day road race in Croatia spanning March 15-18:
