Devo Wrap: Owen owns the Peace Race in Czech Republic
The juniors riders in the USA Cycling National Development Program (NDP) landed a podium result at a Nations' Cup race in the Czech Republic while the U23 riders competed in a pair of races in Europe.

Logan Owen (Bremerton, Wash./California Giant Cycling) finished second in the general classification, only 35 seconds behind the winner Mads Pedersen (DEN). Owen catapulted into fifth in the general classification after the time trial before moving into third after the third stage. He gained three seconds in time bonus sprints to earn the second step of the podium after the final stage.
"This was my first Nations' Cup race and it was very difficult," Owen said. "As the race went on I felt stronger and stronger, but without my team's help it would not have been possible to finish on the podium. On stage 2b with seven kilometers to go, I crashed and my team stopped and we were able to catch back on and finish with the bunch. It was a game changer."

In addition to Owen's strong individual finish, the team placed fourth overall, 2:28 behind the French national team, which topped that classification.
Wil Barta (Boise, Idaho/B.Y.R.D.S. (Boise Young Rider Dev Squad)) finished 26th, 3:08 behind Pedersen. Mostov finished 37 seconds behind Barta in 32nd place while Greg Ratzell (Blandon, Pa./Young Medalists) was six minutes behind Pedersen in 45th place.
Jake King (North Garden, Va./Hot Tubes Development Cycling Team) and Noah Williams (Wimberley, Texas/Slipstream-Craddock Junior Development Team) also contested the race.
U23
The U23 riders contested Ronde van Overijssel with elite men on May 4 in the Netherlands. First-year U23 rider, Alex Darville (Santa Barbara, Calif./Bontrager Cycling Team) finished with the same time as the winner, Tom Vermeer (NED), in 14th place in the final results, completing the race in 4:43:25.
Eamon Lucas (Pebble Beach, Calif./California Giant Berry Farms-Specialized) and Ty Magner (Athens, Ga./BMC-Hincapie Sportswear Development Team) finished 9:57 and 17:35 behind Vermeer, respectively. Connor O'Leary (Salt Lake City, Utah/Bontrager Cycling Team) also completed the race, finishing 21:55 behind the winner.
Stephen Leece (San Luis Obispo, Calif./California Giant Berry Farms-Specialized) and Greg Daniel (Englewood, Colo./Bontrager Cycling Team) also competed in the race.
On Sunday, the same group of U23 riders were in Belgium to race the Circuit de Wallonie Ville de Fleurus alongside elite riders.
O'Leary and Leece each finished within a minute of the winner, Sebastien Delfosse (BEL), who completed the 170-kilometer race in 4:02:39. In the final results, O'Leary finished the race in 28th place, 22 seconds back while Leece was 35 seconds back in 64th place.
Darville and Daniel each finished 1:22 behind Delfosse in 81st and 83rd, respectively.
Magner and Lucas also contested the race for USA Cycling.
