DEVO: McNulty, Team USA take Trofeo Karlsberg

  
  


(June 20, 2016) – Brandon McNulty (Phoenix, Ariz./LUX Cycling-Strading p/b Specialized) took the General Classification win at the June 17-19 Trofeo Karlsberg in Belgium, continuing a hot summer for the junior men’s program.

McNulty claimed the GC lead following his Stage 2b individual time trial win Saturday and never looked back. He crossed in 7:09:41, besting Ethan Hayter’s (GBR) 7:10:25 second-place finish and teammate Ian Garrison (Decatur, Ga./Masters Cycling Systems), who earned bronze in 7:10:57.
 
Gage Hecht (Parker, Colo./Hot Tubes Development Cycling Team) narrowly missed the top 10, taking 13th in 7:11:28, followed by Spencer Petrov (Mason, Ohio/Masters Cycling Systems) in 7:12:13 for 25th, Matteo Jorgenson (Boise, Idaho/Hot Tubes Development Cycling Team) in 7:22:07 for 47th and Will McBryde (Denver, Colo./Prestige Imports-Porsche-Audi Racing Team) in 7:33:46 for 57th.
 
Team USA also earned top team honors, besting Great Britain by 50 seconds over the four-stage weekend.

The Development Program continues July 7-10 when the women’s team will challenge Krasna Lipa in the Czech Republic.
