DEVO: Americans soar at l’Avenir

  
  


(Aug. 29, 2016) – Adrien Costa (Bend, Ore./Axeon Hagens Berman) led the way for the Team USA at the Tour de l’Avenir in France, bringing home a third-place GC finish and stage win.

Costa was the top overall American, taking third in 23:33:14. He won the Stage 4 individual time trial in 21:14 and collected three additional top-10 stage finishes on his way to the final GC podium. David Gaudu (FRA) earned the win in 23:31:51, while Edward Ravasi (ITA) took second in 23:32:15.
 
Neilson Powless (Roseville, Calif./Axeon Hagens Berman) also had an exceptional week at l’Avenir, chalking the Stage 8 win and claiming second behind Costa at Stage 4. Taking eighth in the Mountains Classification, Powless finished 18th overall in 23:51:25.
 
Will Barta (Boise, Idaho/Axeon Hagens Berman) finished 43rd in 24:21:29, followed by Logan Owen (Bremerton, Wash./Axeon Hagens Berman) in 24:34:16 for 55th and Sepp Kuss (Durango, Colo./Rally Cycling) in 25:12:41 for 103rdGeoffrey Curran (Tustin, Calif./Axeon Hagens Berman) also competed.
