Personal

After advancing to the pro ranks in 2007, David Herman proved that he was pro material by winning the Rookie Pro of the Year award at the ABA Grands in the fall of the same year. From there David was on his way to becoming world-class and, to drive that point home, the following year he went on to score two World Cup victories in France and Australia.
 
Despite the glory of becoming a champion BMX racer however, David is a young man with a plan, or at least a fallback plan and, while he found what he loves in BMX racing, he claims that he would otherwise be a student, if not a pro racer.
 
He's earned his way onto a number of teams that USA Cycling has dispatched to World Cup events around the globe and he was one of 14 of the nation's finest BMX racers selected to take part in USA Cycling's Elite BMX Camp at the Olympic Training Center in southern California in February 2011. His stated goal is to be the best in the sport and what spurs him toward his goal is watching his respected rivals succeed, which he says is what motivates him most.
 
He claims to be pretty standard regarding how he spends his spare time and if that's the case he probably never runs out of friends who enjoy challenging him at the things he loves like ping pong, Xbox, tennis, trail riding, and going out in general.
