Costa, Garrison to compete in U23 TT at Pan Am Road Championships

  
  


Colorado Springs, Colo. (April 17, 2017) -- USA Cycling announced today the two U23 athletes that will represent the USA at the upcoming Pan American Continental Road Championships, May 4-7 in the Dominican Republic.  
 
Adrien Costa (Bend, Ore./Axeon Hagens Berman) and Ian Garrison (Decatur, Ga./Axeon Hagens Berman) will contest the U23 men’s time trial on  May 5.
 
Costa, who was a junior time trial world championship medalist in both 2014 and 2015, won the Tour Bretegne in 2016 and was third in the Tour L’Avenir. Garrison was second at Gent-Wevelgem this spring and was the junior time trial bronze medalist at last year’s world championships.
 
Costa and Garrison will be joined in Team USA jerseys by the six women that USA Cycling previously named to the squad last Wednesday.  
 
"We have a strong team for Pan American Continental Championships,” said USA Cycling’s VP of Athletics, Jim Miller. “We are looking forward to competing in the Dominican and the opportunity to maximize our World Championship start allocations.”

Ian Garrison (Decatur, Ga./Axeon Hagens Berman) – time trial

Chloe Dygert (Bremerton, Wash./Sho-Air TWENTY20) – road race, time trial
Skylar Schneider (West Allis, Wis./Team Illuminate) – road race
Samantha Schneider (West Allis, Wis./Team Illuminate) – road race
Alison Tetrick (Petaluma, Calif./Cylance Pro Cycling),
Leah Thomas (Boulder Creek, Calif./Sho-Air TWENTY20)  - road race
Tayler Wiles (Fairfax, Calif./UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling)  - road race, time trial
