Papanedal, Netherlands (May 12, 2012) –
American Connor Fields (Henderson, Nev./Chase BMX) claimed his fourth consecutive Superfinal Time Trial victory today at the third round of the 2012 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup in Papendal, Netherlands.

It was a challenging day for all of the competitors not only because of the length of the track, but also because of the gusting winds.

“There were really windy conditions here today,” Fields said. “First time trial run I was 15th and I almost rode off the track. I wasn’t feeling very good after that. I had a conversation with my coach and he said ‘Be aggressive. Everybody has trouble with the track. Do your thing,’ And that is what I did.”

Other top finishes for the Americans came in the women’s Superfinal Time Trial where Alise Post (St. Cloud, Minn./Redline) was second and Arielle Martin (Spanaway, Wash./Intense BMX) barely missed out on the podium in fourth.

Supercross action continues tomorrow as 64 men and 32 women have qualified for racing. The men will move into the 1/8 finals and the women into the quarterfinals. Fans can watch the racing live on www.BMXLive.tv.

“It feels good, but there is a new day tomorrow and you’re only as good as your last race,” Fields went on. “I definitely enjoy the feeling of winning, the more you get the more you want to win.”
