Points of Interest/Personal

  • Before becoming a cyclist, Guarnier was a national-level swimmer and was named a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American in 2001.
  • Guarnier was the valedictorian at Glens Falls High School and was a member of the National Honor Society from 2001-03.
  • After shoulder injuries ended her swimming career at Middlebury College, Guarnier took up training for triathlons. When another student in her dorm suggested bike racing, she gave it a try and loved it so much she dropped triathlons to focus solely on cycling.
  • Guarnier graduated from Middlebury College Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience. While at Middlebury, she received the Rosalin Lieberman Riess Memorial Award, which is presented to the graduating senior who shows the greatest promise to contribute to the treatment or cure of severe mental illness.
