Points of Interest/Personal

  • While being a multiple No.1 nationally-ranked age group amateur BMX racer from age 9 to 15, and No. 1 nationally ranked Pro BMX racer from 15-18, Alise was also a highly competitive gymnast and track-and-field athlete.
  • Outside of sports, Alise loves home DIY projects and playing with her rescue pup, Mila.
  • In 2006, she was the first female ever voted "Rookie Pro of the Year" by the readers of BMXer Magazine. In 2015, she was also voted “Pro of the Year” for the same Golden Crank Awards. To date, besides Alise, this honor has been exclusively reserved for males.
  • Alise took home the bronze medal in her rookie UCI elite woman performance at the 2010 UCI BMX World Championships.
  • After her former gymnastics coach was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, Alise began hosting an annual event, The Alise Post MS Race for a Cure, at her home track in Minnesota, with varying events run in conjunction with a local BMX race to raise funds for MS. The event has raised more than $60k for MS Research.
  • Her family has been the driving force behind the development and growth of Pineview Park BMX track in St. Cloud, Minn., which was turned from a vandalized city park into one of the best BMX facilities in the country.
  • In early 2014, Alise lost her mom, Cheryl, to melanoma cancer. “Cheryl Strong” became her motto, and honoring her mom’s memory has become a driving force in her racing.
  • In December of last year, Alise’s boyfriend, Sam Willoughby (an Australian BMX Olympic silver medalist) proposed. Their wedding is set for April 15, 2017, on an off-racing weekend!
