Below you will find a list of EXAMPLES of approved Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for race directors. Please note that this list is not exhaustive. If you are interested in receiving CEU credit for a particular training program, please email the training agenda or other information describing the training topics to the race director education manager so that a determination can be made. 

Examples of USA Cycling sponsored CEUs:

  • USA Cycling webinars
  • USA Cycling race director certification training
  • USA Cycling officials course
  • Mentoring a collegiate or new race director
  • Community service hours- IMBA, presenting a USA Cycling webinar, etc.

Non-USA Cycling CEUs (must be relevant to the duties and responsibilities of a race director):

  • Reciprocal National Governing Body certifications such as USA Triathlon race director certification training
  • Webinars
  • Professional certifications such as
    • CPR/Community First Aid (in person course)
    • EMT
  • Formal higher education courses covering topics related to planning and organizing events
  • School of Business, Small Business Development Center Programs including topics such as
    • People & Communication Skills Series
    • Excellence in Customer Service
  • Sessions offered by Visitor or Tourism Bureaus
  • Training offered by local Sports Commissions
  • University Event Management Courses
  • Relevant secondary education
