Favorite Race: 2014 USA Cycling Cyclo-cross National Championships; favorite venue is Providence — very fun to ride and good soil.

Favorite Place to Train: Most anywhere with good company! Hills, quiet roads and trails, and a little sunshine don't hurt. Usually that means Boulder.

Best Cycling Memory: Fans cheering at Valmont Bike Park for the 2014 USA Cycling Cyclo-cross National Championships, wearing inside-out shirts I bought at a thrift store and silk screened "Allen! Allen! Allen!" on.

Best Advice Received From a Coach When Starting Out: No one ever went home for being too warm (in regards to clothing choices).

Did You Know? Allen is a professional commercial photographer and video producer with Hardcastle Photography and Hardcastle Pictures...he scripted, filmed and edited "Sh*t Cyclists Say", a video that went viral on YouTube with roughly 1.3 million views...he grows red wine grapes in Boulder, Colo., and makes wine with his dad...they have 100 vines and anticipate about 300 bottles a year.

First Involvement in Cycling: Riding to and from friends’ houses in neighboring suburbs in Illinois and going across farms to get there at age 12.

Hobbies: Alpine touring (backcountry skiing), gardening and cooking

Charity Work/Community Involvement: Allen is a former coach for Boulder Junior Cycling
