Alise Post withdraws from BMX World Championship competition

Alise Post will not make the trip to Copenhagen.
“Obviously this is horrible news but I feel confident that we have three girls who will step up to the challenge,” said USA Cycling BMX Programs Director Mike King of the U.S. team’s chances at the pending world championships. “Alise is a strong competitor and we expect to see her back in the saddle soon.”
Post, currently the seventh-ranked rider in the UCI World standings, suffered a leg injury during training on Thursday. The extent of her injuries is unknown but the 20 year-old is expected to return to competition as soon as possible.
“It is obviously unfortunate, but I’m already working to get back on the road to recovery.” stated Post. “The last time I suffered injury I came back even stronger so I fully expect this one to turn out just the same.”
The 2011 UCI BMX World Championshipsbegin Monday in Copenhagen, Denmark with the elite competitions slated for later in the week.
