2005 Club of the Year winners announced
Colorado Springs, Colo. (Feb. 16, 2006) - The 2005 USA Cycling Club of the Year winners are in! Nine cycling clubs in the United States are receiving awards for excellence in three overall divisions and six special categories.
Overall divisions were determined by how well-rounded and active a club was in proportion with its number of club members. Judges based their decision on the number of cycling events a club held, outstanding competitive results, clinics and seminars held for member education, and activities that helped the club and the community.
Special awards focused on Juniors, Women, Track Racing, Collegiate and Masters. An award was given for the Best New Club of 2005. Clubs were evaluated on their programs to grow their discipline or group, and the visible results of those programs.
Winners will receive free renewal for their club and a plaque. The application and points criteria for Club of the Year can be found at http://www.usacycling.org/news/user/story.php?id=519.
